OBD&BENCH

What’s the difference between OBD & BENCH remapping?

First things first, the outcome of the remap is the same in regards to the extra power your getting.

OBD:
Most vehicles now can be tuned through the OBD port inside a vehicle so there is no need to remove the ECU. We have tools which can read the stock file from the ECU directly through the OBD port and onto our device. This is a lot quicker and safer as no need to start removing parts.

BENCH:
On the odd occasion some vehicles need a Bench remap. This requires the ECU to be removed from the vehicle and opened up in order to modify the file within the ECU itself. As you can imagine this takes a lot longer, requires more care and uses slightly different tools and techniques. This is why a bench remap is generally more expensive than an OBD.
